This webpage provides information and planning efforts relative to specific roadway corridors/areas and freight opportunities throughout Chester County. Many of these efforts are carried out through partner organizations such as the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC).

PotholePennDOT's Pothole Hotline

Due to Pennsylvania's severe freeze/thaw cycle, potholes are a fact of life. PennDOT can only fix potholes if they know about them and motorists are encouraged to report potholes on state-owned roadways by calling 1-800-FIX-ROAD or visiting customercare.penndot.gov. When reporting a pothole, please be as specific as possible. If you can, note the county, municipality, road name, and closest intersection. Learn More

DVRPC CC FreightChester County Freight Plan

This DVRPC study takes a broad look at freight in Chester County. The first phase of the study focused on establishing the county's freight profile by defining the key freight industries, infrastructure, activity, and trends. The second phase provided a freight action plan, including goals to meet the development and economic growth that the county is experiencing and to mitigate any negative impacts of changing land use and freight activity. DVRPC 202US 202 Section 100 Operations Analysis

This DVRPC study examined existing and anticipated traffic patterns on US 202 from Matlack Street to Skiles Boulevard/Stetson School Drive. It identified a number of low-cost improvements in the corridor that would substantially improve future traffic conditions but could be done mostly within the existing roadway footprint. Chester County is currently seeking funding for these improvements. View Document

DVRPC 202US 202 Section 200 Operations Analysis

This DVRPC study examined existing and anticipated traffic patterns on US 202 from Westtown Road to Boot Road, including select nearby intersections. Several alternatives were identified and examined using traffic modelling. The report ultimately recommended a set of improvements that focus primarily on the Northbound direction of the study area that would improve future conditions from both a safety and traffic flow standpoint. DVRPC DowningtownDowningtown Area Transportation Study

This DVRPC led study evaluated the transportation network of this growing region of Chester County. The project team examined the existing traffic conditions as well as what those conditions are expected to become in the future after continued growth and development are considered. The final report provides recommendations and strategies to manage congestion and increase mobility throughout the project study area. Learn More

DVRPC Kennett FreightKennett Area Freight Transportation Study

This DVRPC study sought to address concerns related to truck traffic and conflicts in the Kennett area, which is home to Chester County's expansive mushroom industry. The report explores strategies to address existing geometric constraints, bridge restrictions, truck movement and routing issues, as well as looking at ways to protect or enhance historic and commercial boroughs.
