Landscapes3 Five-Year Trends Report
Posted February 11, 2025
Chester County celebrated the fifth anniversary of Landscapes3 this past year and in reaching this milestone, the Chester County Planning Commission looked back at the ways the plan has been implemented by conducting a Five-Year Assessment.
Through the assessment, it was revealed that the county has made significant strides in the plan's overall goal to balance growth and preservation.
As part of this assessment, CCPC identified the top five most important trends that were not fully anticipated when the plan was adopted in November of 2018, such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, a community survey was conducted in the spring of 2024 to help better understand what residents and businesses viewed as important impacts over the last five years.
The results of the assessment and survey were used to develop a Five-Year Trends Report, which will help shape CCPC's work program over the next five years and lay the groundwork for the next update of Landscapes3 in 2028.
Trends in the report include: Changes to How and Where We Work; Pandemic Impacts on Transportation; Commerce and Industry Trends; Housing Affordability 2.0; and Climate Change Impacts and Sustainability.
